Apparently revived to feed the tree once more, '90s alt-rock act Belly have confirmed that they are going to play some reunion dates in 2016 and release a series of singles in the coming months.

The band confirmed the reunion today (February 8) through their official website, and while the specifics on the upcoming shows have yet to arrive, it's looking like UK dates take place in July, while a U.S. tour is expected to run from August into September. This would mark the first performances in the group since their breakup in 1996.

The statement also adds that fans can expect the first new sounds from the band since 1995 sophomore collection King to arrive this year as well. The band explained that there are "a handful of brand new Belly songs in various stages of writing and recording" that they will be releasing one at a time.

Formed in 1991 by former Throwing Muses/Breeders vocalist/guitarist Tanya Donelly, the band also consists of bassist Gail Greenwood, guitarist Tom Gorman and drummer Chris Gorman.

The band had achieved MTV buzz bin success through their "Feed the Tree" single, which was pulled from 1993 debut Star. Though originally issued through 4AD, a vinyl reissue was pressed up through Plain Recordings in 2014.

In 2014, the band's King number "Seal My Fate" was used quite touchingly in the "Rixty Minutes" episode of sci-fi animated comedy Rick and Morty. You'll find the band's music video for the track below.
