Tame Impala leader Kevin Parker has shared some gnarly-looking hospital selfies after fracturing his hip while attempting to run a half marathon.
The multi-instrumentalist posted a gallery of photos from his hospital bed, writing, "Fractured my hip. Tried to run a half marathon on what turned out to be an existing stress fracture. Whoops. Made it to within 1km of the finish line."
The photos are a bit graphic, showing his leg stained pink with what appears to be blood. He seems to have had surgery, since he has an incision wound, and an X-ray shows that he now has a screw in his hip.
There's also a video of him doing physiotherapy and struggling to walk up a flight of stairs, but he has promised that it won't impact the band's upcoming tour dates. He wrote, "All shows in Mexico and South America going ahead as planned I'm not quitting on you guys." The tour starts tomorrow (March 10) in Mexico City.
