It appears that the ultimate Auto-Tune crooner T-Pain is at work on an Auto-Tune application for the iPhone. In a recent interview with Time Magazine, the robot singer (born Faheem Rasheed Najm) revealed that he's working with Auto-Tune's parent company Antares to develop the app. "It's gonna be real cool," he said. "Basically, you can add Auto-Tune to your voice and send it to your friends and put it on the Web. You'll be able to sound just like me."
In a follow-up interview with the L.A. Times, Antares' chief operating officer Georganna Drayton clarified that the app will "use our [Antare's] software and T-Pain's beats so you can make music on the iPhone."
An official release date for the application hasn't been announced but one thing is for certain: Ben Gibbard is gonna be pissed.
