If you were turned off by Andrew Penners rough husky vocals on their debut album, Hymns for the Happy, seeing Torontos own Sunparlour Players live is definitely key to winning you over. Watching three middle-aged men wearing suits sitting down in front of kick drums with their hands on three or four different instruments each, all yelling and singing into a black room is unforgettable, to say the least. They tirelessly pounded out their homemade mix of bluesy speed-folk-rock without taking a minute to catch a breath. Let the jaw dropping proceed.
