While a release show planned for next month was ultimately postponed, Witch Prophet's new album DNA Activation has arrived nonetheless, and you can stream the new effort right now.
Arriving today through Heart Lake Records, DNA Activation runs 10 tracks in length and follows Witch Prophet's 2018 debut The Golden Octave.
Co-produced by Witch Prophet and DJ Sun Sun, DNA Activation finds the artist singing in English, Amharic and Tigrinya. Each track on the effort is named after Witch Prophet's family members, while also inspired by Biblical stories, myths, and her Ethiopian and Eritrean roots.
DNA Activation features contributions from saxophonist Karen Ng, Brandon Valdivia (a.k.a. Mas Aya), Elsa Tesfay and Regbu Musa. The album was mixed by F. Nocera at Strega Villa, and mastered by Emebet Sequar at Lalibela Studios.
DNA Activation can be heard below and is available for digital purchase here. Read Exclaim!'s recent interview with Witch Prophet.
