Canadian hardcore mainstays Comeback Kid have officially shared their seventh studio album Heavy Steps, and alongside the record's release, they've also shared a brand new video for album track "Face the Fire."

"We are over the moon to finally put out Heavy Steps," lead vocalist Andrew Neufeld said in a statement about the record's release. "This album's journey started two years ago when the pandemic hit and has brought us here today as one of the most collaborative efforts we have had the privilege to be involved in."

He continued: "From writing the album from across the country to meeting in Winnipeg to jam and eventually record, having a mixer like Will Putney get involved and bringing the sonic elements to life — it has truly been an honour."

Recorded in Winnipeg at Private Ear Recording Studio with John Paul Peters — who's worked with the likes of Cancer Bats and PropagandhiHeavy Steps features guest appearances by Gojira's Joe Duplantier and is described by the band as "a statement of intent."

About the frenetic, Dylan Gould-directed video for "Face the Fire," Neufeld said: "We were finally able to operate as a band again and tour over the last five months, and this new video is a collection of footage and photos that I collected over that time. It is an accurate reflection of what our live shows encompass and that specific energy that we have missed so much."
