"If you came here to stand around, you are in the wrong place, motherfucker," announced Stick To Your Guns vocalist Jesse Barnett halfway through their Heavy Montreal set. If that wasn't already apparent, you also must have been blind because the potent pit was overflowing with energy that boiled over the top of the crowd via a mass influx of crowd surfers.
Unfortunately, the venue prevented the usual stage dives, while time constraints constricted the refreshing positive preaching that usually breaks up the driving hardcore of the band's set. Still, Barnett managed to get in a call for those in the audience who can look at the world we live in and still be blissfully happy to "wake the fuck up"; he revealed that, throughout his life, he'd been told he has a problem and needed to calm down. However, given the energy behind tracks such as "What Does Around," "Such Pain" and "Amber," chilling out is the exact opposite of what was needed here.
