Few things in life are more certain than death, taxes, and a decent new Spoon album every couple years. Four years after the Austin rock lifers shared their Hot Thoughts, they have posted a few teasers hinting that something new is imminent.

Yesterday, the band posted some grainy film footage to their social media pages alongside a message reading "You ready? #LOTS." There appears to be #LOTS coming from Spoon — the band will be streaming a new concert film, Back to the Life // Live from Los Angeles, on October 28 and 29, which was shot during a surprise show at the Teragram Ballroom last month.

Adding to the mystery, a recent promo clip for the film featured unreleased music, and another promo video found keyboardist Alex Fischel saying, "We're gonna be debuting a few new songs for you privileged streamers at home."

Eagle-eyed fans over at the Spoon subreddit have shared their hypotheses. A few commenters believed "#LOTS" could stand for "Lucifer on the Sofa," one of a few new song titles vocalist Britt Daniel shared during a 2020 interview with Rolling Stone on the recording of a yet-to-be-announced Spoon album.

More digging uncovered a fan-filmed video from the show at the Teragram featuring a new song called "The Hardest Cut," driven by jangling guitar chords that bear more than a passing resemblance to those used in the promo clip.

All will presumably be revealed shortly. Until then, take a look at the clips below. Tickets for Back to the Life // Live from Los Angeles are available here.
