Winnipeg singer-songwriter Slow Leaves has announced plans for his sixth full-length record Shelf Life. The album arrives April 3 via Birthday Cake Records.
Today, the artist born Grant Davidson has shared the forthcoming album's lead single, a song titled "Miss You," which arrives today alongside a Chris Gaudry-directed music video. You can watch that down below.
In a press release, Davidson said the track deals with "the slippery quality of time, which is a theme that runs through just about every song I write."
He continued: "In a sense, I'm preoccupied with the past, perhaps at the detriment of the present. I'm not great at looking ahead. Naturally, I miss certain things and certain people. I guess that's life. We recorded ["Miss You"] live as a four-piece band and I wanted to capture that quality in a simple video that borrowed from the style of nineteen-seventies television concerts."
Shelf Life marks Davidson's follow-up to 2017's Enough About Me. Pre-order the record here.
