Sinisters

Cheerleader Drugdealer

BY Chris GramlichPublished Sep 1, 1999

No band that looks as glam as the Sinisters should sound half as vicious, noisy and chaotic. The Sinisters make punk rock that’s heavily influenced by the Dwarves, the Stooges and other seminal noise/punk outfits and are as dirty, gritty, ugly and as catchy as any of them. Cheerleader Drugdealer features a rawer production, a more distorted atmosphere and harsher vocals than on previous Sinister releases. Take “Nerve Poison” for example, a non-stop assault of speed and aggression or “Coney Island White Trash” with its use of saxophone and feedback if proof is required of the Sinisters ability to engineer musical abuse.
