Alex G is (Sandy) no more. The singer-songwriter has officially reverted to his original artist name from (Sandy) Alex G.
Stereogum first reported the change after the artist was announced to be playing Riot Fest 2021 on Wednesday (June 16), appearing as Alex G on the fest's graphics.
Alex G changed his name to (Sandy) Alex G while rolling out 2017's Rocket. A statement released by Domino Records at the time read, in part, "We are unable to provide further comment at this time, but would appreciate you using the new titling for all future mentions."
In April, Alex G shared new song "rosebush," which followed an alternate version of "Bad Man."
Last year, he released his House of Sugar album — and was mistaken for Beto O'Rourke. Exclaim! named House of Sugar one of the 20 Best Pop and Rock Albums of 2019.
