Singer/guitarist Dallas Good of Toronto, ON's the Sadies remains in a Saskatoon, SK hospital today (February 14) after severely breaking his leg and missing the band's show at the city's Broadway Theatre last night. Among other things, this casts doubt on whether the band's remaining Canadian tour dates can be fulfilled.
The Sadies had finished a sound check and dispersed to have dinner before last night's show. Good was on his way to local venue/restaurant Amigos when he slipped on some ice and suffered a compound fracture. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and was scheduled to have surgery on the injured leg, which he had broken once before in the past.
For their part, the rest of the Sadies (Travis Good, Mike Belitsky, and Sean Dean) did their best to honour the Saskatoon show, playing without Dallas Good for the first time in the group's history.
According to online reports, the show went amazingly well and openers the Sheepdogs even joined in on some impromptu covers, like the Guess Who's "Running Back to Saskatoon." The band pledged to return to the city at some point and play a free show for those patrons in attendance that night.
Tonight's show in Edmonton has been cancelled/postponed, as the band await word from doctors and Dallas about his condition. For now, the status of the Sadies' remaining tour dates is unknown, but stay tuned for more details.
