The Sadies, Change of Heart, Bruce McCulloch of Kids in the Hall and more will perform at Toronto's Phoenix Concert Theatre on May 25 to honour Al Miller, the late guitarist/sound technician who played in bands like Bunchofuckingoofs and Living Proof.

"I first met Al when he was the guitar engine of Living Proof, a great band that had people like Mudhoney as fans," Punching Nuns' James Bredin (a.k.a. Jim Rocket) told Exclaim! in an email. "He played in several bands over the years including in many versions of the BFGs. His sound work included Kids in the Hall, The Mike Bullard Show and various CTV productions out of the old Masonic Temple," in addition to being the sound engineer for most of the early Exclaim! anniversary events in the '90s.

"It's a testament to Al's talent (on guitar and the soundboard) and character that so many musicians want to celebrate him," Bredin added — and that's exactly what will happen on May 25, with performances on deck from the likes of John Borra Band, Nothing in Particular, J.P. Wasson Band, Starband and Suckerpunch.

Tickets for the 19-plus event are on sale now for $15 plus fees, with doors set to open at 6 p.m.
