Romy has followed up her 2020 debut solo single "Lifetime" and last year's "Strong" with another (ahem) life-affirming banger in "Enjoy Your Life," a fluorescent burst of a song that samples the iconic Beverly Glenn-Copeland's "La Vita," from the new age pioneer's 2004 album Primal Prayer.
According to a press release, the song was inspired by a Copeland performance in Stockholm that Romy attended with Robyn. Romy was particularly struck by Copeland's performance of "La Vita," which includes the line "My mother says to me 'enjoy your life.'" Romy's own mother passed away when she was eleven years old, and she reached out to Copeland about sampling the phrase for a new song.
That song is "Enjoy Your Life," which occupies the same vein of big-hearted dance music that "Lifetime" and "Strong" did. It features co-production by Fred Again.., Stuart Price and Jamie XX and comes attached to a video created by Romy's wife Vic Lentaigne. The video includes intimate fly-on-the-wall moments with Romy, tour footage and footage of Romy's mother.
