Hard-working Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan has taken a break from releasing song after video after song to turn himself in to Miami police. This follows allegations that he recently assaulted a bodyguard at a Miami nightclub last month.

The original version of the story claimed that the 25-year-old rapper born Dequantes Lamar assaulted a bouncer at the Fontainebleau: Liv nightclub. When he was denied entry to the club, he reportedly exclaimed, "I'm Rich Homie Quan and I'm a rich millionaire" before allegedly attacking the bouncer. Initial reports also stated that he escaped the scene in a speedboat, James Bond style.

Later, the artist made a statement to Billboard, saying that the allegations against him were false. "With respect to the questions concerning the incident with the security guard, I am innocent of the accusations he has made against me," he said. "However, I am not at liberty to expand further at this time because the investigation into the events of that day is ongoing."

Now, NBC reports [via The FADER] that Quan has turned himself in to authorities. According to the report, he'll face a misdemeanour charge of simple battery.
