A recent Facebook post from German industrial metal perverts Rammstein suggests that the act may be putting together a new album, but for now fans can celebrate what the band have done so far with a new, back catalogue-celebrating vinyl box set release. Dubbed XXI - The Vinyl Box Set, the collection hits turntables on December 4.
The box contains a hefty 14 slabs of vinyl. Twelve of these are accounted for via double-LP pressings of Rammstein's six full-length records: 1995's Herzeleid, 1997's Sehnsucht, 2001's Mutter, 2004's Reise, Reise, 2005's Rosenrot and 2009's Liebe ist für alle da.Additionally, an odds-and-sods set titled Raritäten (German for "rarities") fills out the final two pieces of vinyl.
The albums have all been remastered for the box set release and are being pressed onto 180-gram vinyl.
On the packaging side of things, XXI houses each record in a large, foil-stamped box, while the collection also contains various posters and booklets. You can find out more and pre-order the set here.
Though nothing has been officially confirmed, if the recent, band-uploaded pic is Rammstein's hint to fans that they're finally set to release a new album, it will be their first collection since 2009. The in-studio pic is captioned "Rammstein: it goes on! / Rammstein: back on!" Keep your eyes peeled for more info.
Most recently, the act gave their Rammstein in Amerika tour documentary a home release.
