Toronto's Queen West Art Crawl has just released the programming for its main stage in Trinity Bellwoods Park. A diverse roster of 10 artists will perform the 19th iteration of the multi-arts festival, slated to take place from September 24 to 25.
Free to the public throughout the weekend, the main stage will host an eclectic lineup of musicians, including shoegaze rockers Gossamer Blue, rising Indigenous pop star Wolf Saga, Spanish language singer Ana Lia and 11-piece outfit Reggaddiction — known in part for their reggae covers of Neil Young's Harvest. Other artists set to perform include Poor Man's High, Garnetta and Dagroovmasters, the Vaudevillian, Sandy Duperval, Earlybird and Autorickshaw.
"The Queen West Art Crawl might be known for its outdoor art exhibition, featuring a huge variety of visual artists and artisans with one-of-a-kind work for sale, but Exclaim! readers should also note that QWAC hosts an incredible free music festival at the same time," says the Crawl's artistic director Jonathan Brett. "Featuring bands such as Reggaddiction, Wolf Saga, Gossamer Blue, and the Juno-nominated Autorickshaw, with drag queens and more, all by the beer tent. There's even a kids' zone with entertainment for the little ones."
On top of its music programming, drag shows and kids' zone, the fest's outdoor art exhibition will allow artisans to meet the public and sell their work. More info can be found on the Queen West Art Crawl website.
