"This is our last show in America, and we couldn't think of ending it anywhere but Montreal." Geography foibles not withstanding, festival-goers crammed in for one of Pop's most anticipated new artists. Manning synthesizers and samplers or playing the occasional drum kit or guitar riff, Mount Kimbie's lush, filtered sound ran the gamete from atmospheric post-rock loops to chipmunk-vocal-layered UK garage. Heavy on the dub delay but a little light on stage presence, the duo still had smiles plastered on the faces of a crowd packed so tight that they couldn't dance if they wanted too. Hopefully when Mount Kimbie get home, they will remember their best show was at a little club called Le Belmont in Montreal, America.
