While you eagerly anticipate Green Day's upcoming 21st Century Breakdown album this May, venerable punk label Recess Records is giving you the opportunity to look back at front-man Billie Joe Armstrong's punkier moments with a whole slew of Pinhead Gunpowder releases. The band, which have been active during most of Green Day's career, have maintained a more DIY approach to punk, and are fronted by Armstrong and former Crimpshrine front-man Aaron Cometbus.
On March 7, Recess will release an as-yet untitled greatest hits compilation from the band, which should serve as a decent introduction for the uninitiated. Following that, the label will reissue the albums Jump Salty, Carry the Banner, Goodbye Ellston Avenue, Shoot The Moon and Compulsive Disclosure on both CD and LP.
The label released the band's West Side Highway seven-inch late last year.
