Passion Pit's Michael Angelakos Gets Festive with 'Merry Christmas, Mr. Fields' Project

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Dec 12, 2016

Passion Pit's most recent full-length album arrived with last year's Kindred, but frontman Michael Angelakos is delivering some new material just in time for the holidays. He has announced a new project titled Merry Christmas, Mr. Fields, describing it as an original soundtrack and "video album."

The 15-song release is due out on December 16 and features festive tunes with titles like "Evergreen," "Footprints in the Snow," "December to Remember" "Wake Up, It's Christmas" and more. The first offering that we actually get to hear has arrived with a track called "Stained Glass Windows."

Given the visual nature of the upcoming release, it only makes sense that the song has been paired with an accompanying music video. The clip puts a new twist on the classic elementary school Christmas show, starring a young girl who mouths the words to the song as some blanket-wrapped shepherd types back her up.

You can see the entire tracklist for Merry Christmas, Mr. Fields down below. Beyond that, hit play to get your first glimpse at it with the video for "Stained Glass Windows."
