Outkast Plan Three New Albums for 2009

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 13, 2008

After the world domination of Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, Atlanta rap legends OutKast have been all over the map in their output, seeming to do everything but put out a proper follow-up — no one considers Idlewild "proper." Fortunately, in a recent interview with MTV.com, Big Boi announced that fans can expect three new OutKast albums in 2009.

"Me and (Andre 3000) were on the conference call," he said. "He's working on his album; my album is done. We're gonna wait until the top of the year — January or February — to put it out. Then 'Dre is gonna come hit y'all, and [then] we're gonna do the OutKast album. So y'all gonna get three records from the 'Kast next year."

His album he’s talking about is Sire Luscious Left Foot…Son Of Chico Dusty, the much-delayed Big Boi solo album that has recently been pushed from a 2008 release. In fact, with all the release date doctoring going on these days, we’ll be happy with one OutKast album in 2009.
