Toronto-based alt-rock band Orson Wilds have released "Backstab Myself," the first single from their forthcoming EP This Burning House (We All Fell Asleep In), out September 15 via Take This to Heart Records.

Lead songwriter Eric Reid said in a press release that "Backstab Myself" is "a song about self-sabotage. Not knowing what you want and having to renege on things you thought you wanted. We're all made out of oppositions and this song is about trying to discover your true identity and wants and desires through those oppositions."

He continued, "This is the first song we worked on with producer Mike Sapone (Front Bottoms, Grouplove, Brand New) and it was a lot of fun trying to one up each other on cool backing vocal and counter melody shit. There's like a million little melodies on this song. I think it's good for at least four listens to try and catch 'em all."
