Olivia Rodrigo's ongoing world tour is just the gift that keeps on giving. Amidst the inevitable "Disney knees" and overall spectacle of her first Chicago show last night, the pop megastar also announced that she'll share a deluxe version of her valiant sophomore album GUTS this Friday, March 22 via Geffen Records.
The project titled GUTS (spilled) will tack on five additional songs to the album's original 12, according to signs that Rodrigo and her dancers held up on stage. Four of the new songs — "Obsessed," "Scared of My Guitar," "Stranger" and "Girl I've Always Been" — will receive their first digital release after previously coming out exclusively on special-edition vinyl. The brand new fifth song on the deluxe project is "So American."
GUTS (spilled) is set to arrive just in time for Rodrigo's first Canadian swing, with two dates each in Montreal and Toronto slated between March 26 and 30.
Rodrigo has been using the tour for more good than just album announcements: she's also invited local abortion funds to organize booths at her shows where, previously, they were handing out free contraceptives. Although it appears her team has been strong-armed into backing down slightly — the funds are no longer allowed to bring contraceptives to the shows — she's still inviting the organizations to provide information and resource pages to her concertgoers.
