Nicki Minaj Seemingly Disses Megan Thee Stallion on New Single "Red Ruby Da Sleaze"

"That .40 cal a make 'em dance like a go-go," Minaj raps

Just when we thought people would stop making jokes about Megan Thee Stallion getting shot, Nicki Minaj seems to have decided it's her turn. The latter just dropped her first single of the year, "Red Ruby Da Sleaze," and it sure sounds like she's throwing shade at her former collaborator.

Set over an interpolation of Lumidee's "Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh)," one of the track's first bars sees Minaj rap, "700 on 'em horses when we fixin' to leave / But I don't fuck with horses since Christopher Reeves." Standing alone this could very well be a coincidence, but a few other lines have raised some eyebrows. "Dorito bitches mad that they not chose," Minaj spits later on the track, possibly alluding to "Flamin' Hottie," Megan The Stallion's promotional track for a Hot Cheetos and Doritos Super Bowl commercial.

These bars aren't as condemning as one that possibly alludes to Tory Lanez allegedly yelling, "Dance bitch, dance!" while shooting at the artist born Megan Pete: "That .40 cal a make 'em dance like a go-go," Minaj raps.

Though Minaj and Pete joined forces on Meg's 2019 track "Hot Girl Summer," some speculate that their friendship has since soured. Pete teamed up with Minaj's rival Cardi B on "WAP," and the Barbz have been investigating the possible dissolution of their friendship since.

Lanez was found guilty of shooting Pete in December, and faces up to 20 years in prison and deportation back to Canada. Minaj isn't the only rapper to supposedly make light of the situation — Drake also may have alluded to the shooting on the Her Loss track "Chico Loco," implying Pete lied about the shooting.
