Happy Birthday Willie Nelson!
Nathaniel Rateliff is celebrating Nelson's 87 years today with a new song and video, "Willie's Birthday Song." The clip was directed by Rett Rogers and shot in isolation.
The track is the latest in Rateliff's series, the Marigold Singles, and arrives via Stax Records. The new song will be included on the B-side of a limited 7-inch with a Nelson-featured single on the A-side. The record is due out this summer, with all proceeds going to Farm Aid and StrongHearts Native Helpline.
The song features contributions by harmonica player Mickey Raphael, Jonathan Tyler, Matt Pynn, Matthew Logan Vasquez, Nikki Lane, Courtney Marie Andrews, and even Nelson's sons Lukas and Micah, as well as the Night Sweats' Patrick Meese, Mark Shusterman and Jeff Dazey.
Rateliff released his first solo record in seven years, And It's Still Alright back in February. The artist recently celebrated 4/20 with Nelson alongside Matthew McConaughey, Ziggy Marley, Kevin Smith, Kacey Musgraves, Kevin Morby and many more.
