A few months ago, Montreal electro-pop provider Montag released Phases, which contains a song called "Memori" featuring Au Revoir Simone's Erika Spring. That tune has now been treated to a remix from Herri Kopter (a.k.a. Quebec-based musician Jérôme Minière).
This reworking preserves the dreamy electronic vibe of the original, but scales back the toe-tapping rhythms in favour of low-key moodiness. Minière affectively emphasizes the heady vibe by taking Montag and Spring's vocals out of perfect alignment.
In related news, Montag is sharing the bill with Au Revoir Simone at a couple of Canadian shows in the coming days. They will play at the Belmont in Montreal on Saturday (October 19) and at the Drake Hotel in Toronto on Sunday (October 20).
