Lou Reed and Metallica aren't letting the scathingly terrible reviews for their collaborative album Lulu stop them from promoting the hell out of it. Last week, we learned that the two acts had roped in acclaimed Hollywood director Darren Aronofsky to direct their debut music video. While we wait for that clip to be unleashed, we can enjoy (or endure) footage of the artists performing on Later with Jools Holland.
They played two songs: the Lulu cut "Iced Honey" (which Aronofsky will soon give the video treatment) and the Velvet Underground classic "White Light/White Heat." The latter track gets a tuneless heavy metal makeover, and its sludgy riffing and Lou's mumbling vocals mean that it sounds like something that could have come from Lulu. Oh well, at least Loutallica get points for consistency.
Watch below if you dare.
