Yesterday (April 4) was quite historic — and not just because we dropped our new issue with boygenius on the cover: in New York City, Donald Trump became the first former president to be criminally arraigned, and on no less than 34 felony charges of falsifying business records to cover up hush payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Amid all of the hubbub surrounding the arraignment, it would be easy to have missed how rapper Meek Mill decided to weigh in on the legal proceedings with an Instagram story.

"Trump graduated from the streets… sharing criminal lawyers [with us]… Joe Tactical," he wrote below the viral photo of Trump seated in the Manhattan court room, surrounded by his lawyers.

The man pictured to Trump's left was in fact Joseph "Joe Tactical" Tacopina, the lawyer who represented Meek in his legal saga, which saw the rapper sentenced to two to four years in state prison in late 2017 following a probation violation.

He had a drug and gun conviction in 2008 and was initially denied bail in the very public proceedings for violating the terms of his 10-year probation. Tacopina was part of the rapper's legal team during the successful bid to overturn his sentence that got Meek released from prison in spring 2018 after serving five months.

Joe Tactical loves a challenge, especially in the form of representing a high-profile celebrity. He has also worked for former Yankees player Alex Rodriguez as his representation during the player's MLB doping scandal.

Due back in court in December, Trump is facing a maximum sentence of 136 years on these charges. Of course, he pleaded not guilty to all of them.
