Mdou Moctar have announced the postponement of their Canadian tour dates amid their stint on the road behind Funeral for Justice due to illness.

"It is with great sadness that we have to postpone our three shows in Canada that were supposed to begin today," the band wrote in a statement posted to social media. "Mdou has been quite ill since arriving in the US for tour last week. After playing the first two shows he received treatment, but unfortunately is still in no shape to perform."

"We are working to find new dates to reschedule in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto as quickly as possible," they continued, with the shows having originally been scheduled for tonight at Le National, tomorrow (October 8) at the Bronson Centre and Wednesday (October 9) at the Concert Hall, respectively. "Thank you all for your understanding. We will see you soon."

At this point, the band will presumably pick things back up at the end of the week with a Columbus, OH, concert slated for Friday (October 11). See their full statement below.
