Columbus metalcore band Like Moths to Flames have fired their founding bassist, Aaron Evans, following allegations of his inappropriate conduct.

"Effective immediately, Aaron will no longer be in Like Moths to Flames," the band tweeted. "Over the last few days, we've been made aware of numerous instances where has abused the platform he was given within our band."

They added that their DMs were open to any fans or friends who wanted to discuss the matter, though some Twitter users have pointed out that their DMs are actually closed.

The band's decision to part ways with Evans follows a flurry of fans posting screenshots of conversations they'd had with him on Twitter. Although just one screenshot mentions the bassist having "intimate relationships with several people, some of them were underage at the time," most of the exchanges in an accuser's Twitter thread alleged that the musician was emotionally abusive and a serial cheater.

The same woman who posted the thread detailed her claims against Evans in an Instagram post, writing, "For the past year, I and others have endured some of the most emotionally abusive behaviours from this man. This person preys on women in vulnerable situations, manipulates them into relationships all the while pursuing several other relationships at the same time."

Evans has yet to respond to the allegations against him.

Like Moths to Flames formed in 2010, with lead vocalist Chris Roetter now the only founding member remaining. Most recently, they released their Pure Like Porcelain EP in 2021.
