Lacuna Coil Announce 'Dark Adrenaline,' North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 22, 2011

Long-running Italian goth metal outfit Lacuna Coil will be delivering another LP early next year, their first since 2009's Shallow Life. And although the three-year gap seems relatively standard, the band admit that they took their sweet time for Dark Adrenaline.

"As some of you know, the release for Dark Adrenaline was postponed a bit... and this made me even more nervous because I had to wait even more to spit it out!" singer Cristina Scabbia said in a statement. "I am so thrilled I can finally say something about this album -- ha!  I simply love it. I feel this is the best work we have ever done."

The album will arrive in North America January 24 through Century Media/EMI, and will be available in a multitude of formats, including digital, a standard CD version, a CD/DVD special edition, and limited-edition twelve-inch.

According to Scabbia, the group's atmospheric new tunes will make "a lot of old-school fans very happy, and the newer fans will enjoy the vibrant energy and the dark blood running through the songs."

You can check out the video for first single "Trip the Darkness," which finds two differently-hued versions of the group taking part in a rock-off, down below.

As previously reported, the Milan-based band will also take part in next year's Gigantour with Megadeth and Motörhead, and will hit up a number of Canadian cities along the way. You can check those dates below as well.
