Kwes Signs to Warp, Shares New Track

London-based musician Kwes has built a name for himself a number of ways, from working with the XX, to remixing Hot Chip, to his recent production work on Damon Albarn's DRC Music project, and all that hard work paid off, as he's just been signed to venerable English imprint Warp Records.

A press release from the label confirms that the 24-year-old musical multi-tasker has been added to its roster, though specifics on his Warp debut have yet been dropped. A new tune called "Get Up," mind you, is available below, and the company hints at more new music being on the way.

"The new material showcases his natural aptitude to music," the statement says, before praising his technical skills on bass guitar, keyboards, drums, sampler, guitar and accordion, as well as his vocals, "a side of him that has never really been explored before."

Kwes's last solo release was 2010's No Need to Run EP.
