Comeback season continues for Kittie: in addition to a handful of festival appearances this summer (including at Festival d'Été de Québec), the metal innovators have announced a small slate of rare headlining North American shows for July and August — including a Canadian stop in Toronto.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be headlining a handful of exclusive shows this summer in support of our forthcoming album," the band wrote in a statement, having released "Eyes Wide Open" — their first new song in 13 years — back in February. "Expect a celebration of new and old material alike, spanning our 25-year career thus far."
They continued, "We are looking forward to playing some setlist staples and bringing back some songs that we haven't played live in decades. Although limited, look for more shows to be announced at a later date. We've missed you and we can't wait to see you again!"
The brief stint on the road begins on July 12 in Toronto for a performance at History with Vile Creature. Other openers for the shows include Unearth, Within the Ruins, Stabbing, Upon a Burning Body, VCTMS, and Conquer Divide, who will support Kittie at the remaining stateside concerts in New York, Atlanta, Dallas and Chicago.
Tickets go on sale Friday (April 26), following presales tomorrow (April 25) at 10 a.m. local.
