Paris Hilton's reggae-lite "Stars Are Blind" has held strong as a beloved Girls-and-Gays anthem for nearly two decades now, the kind of candy-floss cultural item that helps smooth over the less savoury aspects of Hilton's whole ultra-wealthy, politically murky deal.
It is, admittedly, a much better song than Hilton needed to release in 2006, and its staying power is a reflection of that irrepressible ear-worm pull. Lots of people love it, and one of those people is Kim Petras, who's been a friend of Hilton's for quite some time now.
In celebration of that fandom/friendship, Hilton has teamed up with Petras for "Stars Are Blind (Paris' Version)" (lmao), a largely faithful re-recording of the song that has slightly beefed up production and some guest vocals by Petras.
Petras covered "Stars Are Blind" solo in 2020 as part of a Stonewall Gives Back livestream, and the song also soundtracked a scene in Promising Young Woman that same year.
The new version ends with Petras singing, "I love you, Paris! You're that bitch!" Listen to it below.
