Kanye West Says 'Jesus Is King' Will Drop This Week

BY Josiah HughesPublished Oct 21, 2019

Last week, we learned that Kanye West was eyeing a new release date for Jesus Is King. Unless he changes his mind for the umpteenth time, it looks as if he'll actually make good on the promise.

The long-awaited new album — his first as a fully born-again Christian — has been given an October 25 release date.

UPDATE (10/22, 11:20 a.m. EDT): Kanye has now launched a webstore for Jesus Is King, and you can pre-order the album now on vinyl, CD and digitally. A press release further confirms that the new album will indeed arrive on October 25.

Of course, the album had previously been set for a September 27 drop date — and then September 29 — but Kanye kept making little changes to the album.

Kanye has confirmed the October 25 release date with a tweet, and it does make sense. After all, that's the same day his IMAX film of the same name is set to premiere in theatres.

Perhaps we'll get a new album in four days. Or perhaps we'll all just spend the weekend waiting around and getting angrier and angrier with Kanye.

For now, you can watch the recently shared trailer for the Jesus Is King documentary film below.
