Kanye West Goes on Fox News to Defend Selling Yeezy Gap Clothes in "Construction" Bags

They're not garbage bags, he swears!

Finally, a Kanye West story that doesn't involve Pete Davidson. That doesn't mean that it comes without controversy though, as Ye has taken to Fox News to defend his decision to sell clothes out of garbage — sorry, construction — bags.

Defending the creative move for his Yeezy Gap line, West has insisted that the bags being displayed in certain Gap stores are "construction" bags, and he doesn't care if you don't get it.

"I'm an innovator, and I'm not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas," he said outside of Gap's Times Square flagship store [via Fox & Friends]. He also took the opportunity to air his frustrations with the media as a whole: "That's exactly what the media tries to do. Make us apologize for any idea that doesn't fall under exactly the way they want us to think."

The frenzy comes after photos of the bags circulated online throughout the past week. "This is how they are selling Yeezy GAP," said one Twitter user. "The sales associate said Ye got mad when he saw they had it on hangers and this is how he wanted it. They won't help you find ur size too, you just have to just dig through everything."

On top of the inconvenience, some people also feel that West is trivializing the experience of houseless people. In a since-deleted message, he cited people without stable housing as inspiration. "Look to the children…Look to the homeless…As the biggest inspiration for all design."
