Johnny Marr has had quite an impressive roster of collaborators. Since working with the Smiths, the 46-year-old has applied his chops to a number of different groups, playing as a studio musician with countless bands and becoming a full-fledged member of both Modest Mouse and the Cribs. Now, Marr can add Antonio Banderas to the growing list of coworkers.
According to The Playlist, Marr has been tapped to write a score for The Big Bang, a mystery movie starring Banderas. The film is about a detective exploring the death of a stripper who no one has ever seen, with everyone Banderas interrogates winding up dead.
Delroy Lindo, William Fichtner, Sam Elliot and, er, Snoop Dogg also star in the film, which was directed by Tony Krantz. The Big Bang is currently in post-production and so far there is no North American distribution, though this once may be a straight-to-DVD.
As we previously told you, Marr had also been attached to a series of soundtracks co-written with the Stone Roses' Ian Brown.
