There is something quietly epic about Hundred Waters. Lead singer/keyboardist Nicole Miglis has a Bjork-ish lilt to her vocals, perfectly fitting the occasionally glitchy, plodding pop of the Florida-based indie electronic outfit. They were at their most arresting in their downtempo moments, making the sun-covered crowd zone out, lulling them into a new age dream. They were like a less weird CocoRosie or an explosion in slow motion. Yet, for how enjoyable they are in person, their music tends to flow in one ear and out the other almost immediately. It's hard to grasp any specific hook or lyric that remains ingrained in memory. That is something they need to overcome moving forward, and no easy task, but they seem to have a genuinely positive attitude that should serve them well in that pursuit.
