This past October, Matty (a.k.a. Matthew Tavares) and BADBADNOTGOOD sax player Leland Whitty shared collaborative song "Blue" in announcing that they had recorded an album together. Now, it's been revealed when the effort will see release.

Whitty and Tavares are set to take the stage at Toronto's Burdock Brewery on January 12, when they will be joined by bassist Julian Anderson-Bowes and drummer Matthew Chalmers for a set of "indescribable music."

An event listing for the performance points to the pair's album arriving in March, though a concrete release date has yet to be revealed.

Tavares confirmed his departure from BADBADNOTGOOD in October. He had performed with the group intermittently after taking time away from the band's tour schedule in 2017 to "explore songwriting and studio creativity."

Tavares released his debut solo album Déjàvu as Matty last year, while BADBADNOTGOOD last delivered their IV album in 2016. Earlier this month, the group teamed with vocalist Jonah Yano to cover a soul rarity for Light in the Attic.

Tour dates:

01/12 Toronto, ON - Burdock Brewery
