Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Kaytranada, Ouri, Ducks Ltd., Jessie Reyez

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Dec 1, 2023

It's officially the greatest time of year: year-end list season. Yesterday (November 30), we released our ranking of the 50 best albums of 2023 — and, as per usual, Canadian artists are still gunning to stir and inspire with their new releases throughout December as a harbinger of what's to come next year.

Kaytranada links with Rochelle Jordan and Channel Tres for a double single, while fellow Montrealer Ouri is mesmerizingly minimalistic on a double single of her own. You can also hear faint chants of "Quack! Quack! Quack!" from the Exclaim! staff because Ducks Ltd. are leading off their sophomore album with new single "Hollowed Out," and Jessie Reyez joins forces with Sean Leon.

In album releases this week, we have the debut EP from Dweller — the Winnipeg/Toronto supergroup of Georgia Harmer, Kris Ulrich, Field Guide and Julian Psihogios — as well as the next instalment of Excuse Me.'s forthcoming concept album.

Elsewhere, Moonshine team up with Pierre Kwenders, Non La makes their Mint Records debut, Loving return to heal all with "Medicine," and Royal Tusk are getting Altruistic from "Here On Out."
