Alexisonfire co-founder Wade MacNeil has shared another song from his upcoming debut album as Dooms Children. "Heavy Year" follows July's release of "Psyche Hospital Blues" and "Flower Moon," which arrived back in May.
"This song is about not running away from suffering," MacNeil said in a statement. "It's about feeling it, living it and moving past it."
While directly addressing grief, the musician adopts a gently melodic psych-rock approach. With his signature weathered vocal tone, the heaviness of MacNeil's emotion comes through in his voice as he sings, "Another hateful song in a Major key / I try to write for tender hearts that don't feel like me."
Co-produced by Daniel Romano, Dooms Children lands October 20 via Dine Alone Records.
