Since Hank Williams' death at age 29 in 1953, the release of unknown recordings by country music's most revered figure has never ceased. Now comes The Complete Mother's Best Recordings…Plus!, a 15-disc/1 DVD collection of radio shows featuring Williams and his band the Drifting Cowboys, taped at Nashville station WSM throughout 1951. (The show's sponsor was Mother's Best Flour, hence the title.) Williams' natural ability to connect with audiences is on full display in each episode, but the real treat is the replica old-time radio that houses the discs, along with a 110-page hardcover book and poster that lists Williams' complete 1951 itinerary.
