Also appearing in the lengthy list of artists are Begonia, Big Fir, Jennifer Castle, Nuela Charles, Tanika Charles and the Wonderfuls, the Commissionaires, the Crowleys, the Dill, Dilly Dally, Dizzy Spells, Don Vail, Ellevator, Ellis, Lacey Hill, LTtheMonk, Luckystickz, Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar, Motherhood, Mother Tareka, nêhiyawak, the Rural Alberta Advantage, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, the Sorority, Wax Mannequin, Yamantaka//Sonic Titan and more.
"Supercrawl has always had a mandate of cultural discovery, always been committed to celebrating local creators," festival director Tim Potocic said in a statement. "This year we've managed to bring together a really incredible group of artists — local, regional, national and international, emerging artists on up to icons and legends. We're excited as organizers but also as fans, and we're thrilled to start our second decade with a lineup like this."
Supercrawl 2019 is set to take place September 13 to 15 along James Street North in downtown Hamilton. A second lineup announcement will be made July 27 during the city's Fringe Festival.
July will also see an announcement regarding Supercrawl's annual Labour Day Classic Concert in collaboration with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The aforementioned event takes place September 2.
In addition to all the free programming, Supercrawl organizers are holding a special ticketed concert at Hamilton's Pier 8 on June 22 featuring the National, in addition to Alvvays, Hayden, Jennifer Castle and Hannah Georgas. You can learn more about that show here.
