The Halifax Jazz Festival is gearing up for its 33rd annual event this July, and organizers have now made an initial lineup announcement ahead of time.
Artists set to play the festival, which runs July 9 to 14, include First Aid Kit, Bahamas, Tim Baker, the Barr Brothers and the Liebman/Murley Quartet.
The inclusion of First Aid Kit marks the Swedish duo's first-ever performance in Atlantic Canada. Along with Baker, they will play the festival's Waterfront Stage on July 10, followed by Bahamas and the Barr Brothers on July 11.
American saxophonist Dave Liebman and Canadian counterpart Mike Murley will perform as the Liebman/Murley Quartet July 11 at St. Paul's Church.
Festival passes are currently on sale, with a standard pass starting at $189. Tickets for individual shows go on sale March 29 at 10 a.m. local time.
