Guelph's Hillside Festival is heading back indoors for another edition of Hillside Inside, as the event continues to practice COVID safety while also hosting virtual concerts from a roster of excellent Canadian artists.
Running from February 4 to 6, the event will feature performances by Cadence Weapon, Basia Bulat, the Sadies, Ashley MacIsaac, Jeremie Albino, the Lonesome Ace Stringband, Witch Prophet, TEKE::TEKE, Zaki Ibrahim and more through its website. Livestream concerts will be broadcasting from the River Run Centre, while select artists have submitted pre-recorded performances for the festival.
Further programming will feature poetry readings and spoken word performances from David Francey, Narcy and Katherine Wheatley, as well as George Elliott Clarke and Gary Geddes for "Hold Your Fire: Two Poets Speak Their Peace."
Organizers wrote of the event:
Out of consideration for your safety and enjoyment, all of these events must be experienced via the internet, on your word processors, telephones, and, for those of you who've indulged, those fancier refrigerators that enable you to watch the TV as you're pulling an apple out of the fruit drawer or rescuing leftovers that got crammed way in the back of the middle shelf. You'd think a fridge so smart would remind you to eat that stuff before it's too late. Maybe they do? I dunno.
As with last year's iteration, Hillside Inside will be free to view for all. Find more information about the upcoming event via the festival's website, and see the full lineup below.
