Grand Analog

A last minute change of mind brought me to the Grand Analog show and a pleasant surprise. Mood Ruff rapper Odario fronts this collective of live musicians to create a laidback, groovy blend of hip-hop, soul, dub and rock with an improv jazz feel. The improv came in handy during technical difficulties late in the set, when Odario, the keyboard player and the bassist were left to fill space without beats or a DJ.
