Metal-tinged pop punk thats played without a hint of irony pervades this debut by Ottawas the Fully Down. Varying from full-on emo to pure Maiden-esque riffage, the bands songs are as powerful as the musicianship that backs them up. Though sometimes their varying influence become a little too distilled a punk song here, a metal song here, and an emo song there when everything comes together, the band truly shines. Its no wonder they landed themselves a spot on this years Warped Tour through an Alternative Press-sponsored contest simply through the strength of this release. From pop hooks to duelling guitars, No Fate offers up something tasty to the punk rock table.
