Fucked Up Set to Play 12-Hour Set in NYC

BY Farah BarakatPublished Oct 3, 2008

Toronto’s prog punks and Exclaim! cover stars for October, Fucked Up will be celebrating the release of their epic new album, The Chemistry of Common Life, this Tuesday, October 14 with an all-ages free show in New York City. As if that’s not enough, the band will be testing their endurance and sanity by playing for 12 straight hours, beginning the performance at 2:00 p.m.

To make the event even sweeter, the band will be giving away limited edition copies of their Royal Swan seven-inch to the audience, showing their fans some of that Canadian generosity. Special guests expected to join Fucked Up include Vivian Girls (who contributed vocals to The Chemistry of Common Life), Matt Sweeney, Mobb Deep, David Cross, John Cale, and er, Akon, among others who have yet to be announced.

Fucked Up begin their tour in Montreal, crossing North America and ending up in their hometown of Toronto, where they’ll play three dates including their legendary Halloween show before heading off to the UK.
