Ford & Lopatin

The intimidating intellectualist mystery that surrounds these guys has burst and it turns out they're just like you and me -- normal-looking and nerdy, but better at making records. Oneohtrix Point Never's Daniel Lopatin has joined Tigercity's Joel Ford here to create a new electronic group whose musical stylings are less about the sublimity of nature and natural functions of music and more about rocking out. Accompanying video projections of geometric shapes and dump.fm/computerclub were hiply appropriate, creating a sort-of ambient dance cave where friends happily grooved together. Ford & Lopatin aren't big crowd-interactors, but their minimal vibes elated everyone.
