Boston's post-hardcore supergroup Fiddlehead have shared a punchy new song "Sullenboy" — the lead single from their forthcoming album, Death Is Nothing to Us.
The new record is out August 18 via Run for Cover. It follows their acclaimed 2021 album Between the Richness and 2018 debut, Springtime and Blind.
Fiddlehead is made up of rock veterans Patrick Flynn and Shawn Costa of Have Heart, Alex Henery of Basement, Alex Dow of Big Contest and Nick Hinsch of Stand Off.
Lead singer Flynn discussed the album in a statement, saying: "I don't want people to romanticize grief and depression, myself included, but I wanted to write about the way loss can perpetuate this feeling of sadness in your life."
He continued, "I didn't intend to make some kind of thematic trilogy but there is this connection to the first two records, and this album sort of rounds out some of the stages of grief that weren't addressed previously — especially this feeling of stickiness that a depressive attitude can have."
The band have also mapped out their upcoming tour with one Canadian stop in Toronto at Lee's Palace on October 1. See their full itinerary below, where you'll also find the video for "Sullenboy" and the album tracklist.
